Attrib: Dark
Type: Zombie/Effect
Level:8
Atk: 2800
Def: 3000
When this card is sent from your hand or Deck to your Graveyard by your opponent's card effect, Special Summon this card to the field.

Notable Rulings:

-Only the owner of "Despair from the Dark" can use its effect, because it has to be sent from your hand to your Graveyard.

-If "Despair from the Dark" is sent to the Graveyard during a card effect's resolution, or during a chain, activate "Despair from the Dark"'s effect after the current effect or chain has resolved.

-If "Despair from the Dark" is sent to the Graveyard by "Last Turn"'s effect, "Despair from the Dark" is Special Summoned to the field before the attack of "Last Turn" happens.

Aw hell yeah! This was a great card back in the day! I used to summon him all the time using Call of the Mummy & Book of Life. However, I lacked opponents then. However, the number of times this card can be useful nowadays (especially with Dark World so prominent [even though they're also weaker than others]) has increased. This is the beat stick/physical wall of the Zombies. Are there better cards? Of course, but none are as cool as Despair.

4/5 for having it's uses & a badass picture that would make Yugi crap his pants from the sheer badassness this card would have in hologram form!!

Another one of the oldies that I will always cherish. This and Call of the Mummy = Pwn. Well, used to. Now it's only really useful against Wind-Ups or Dark Worlds. But, if you main Call of the Mummy in your Zombie Deck, I highly recommend it. Honestly.

Art: 9/10. Not actually too great, but I love the card. Seeing this image brings cool memories, so it's art is definitely nice to look at now. Which is weird for a weird zombie-haunting thing, but yeah.
Usefulness: 5/10. Huge beater. 2800ATK rivals that of REDMD, though falls short of Black Luster Soldier.

I've actually got this card on my desk right now. And I'm staring at it. It's a cool card.

No, but it's Defense can hold them off in that respect. Otherwise I'd agree. The picture is just awesome.

This came out years before Anubis. This guy's 4 star 1700 atk counterpart was the rare though while Despair sat at common.

It's a cool card. Nice to make you're opponent feel bad for making you discard. it's great against many cards but many decks can do well without them. The other thing, once it hits the field, it's just a big beater....

3/5 cause it's a big monster who can get out here quick enough and slap your opponent around
