• Masako allows tapped creatures to block only if they could otherwise block. It doesn't allow creatures that "can't block" to block, nonflying creatures to block fliers, etc.

Gren's Thoughts » I think Masako is great in her own way. Use powerful tap creatures to dump whatever they have, then just drop Masako when your opp thinks you're wide open. That's the thing though, she's only useful in those situations, and is better played as an "instant" then putting her on the field straight out.

Art » Her depiction in the art matches very well with her story in the book series.

Notes » 2nd request for the request-a-week in March. This week it's Siyanor's request for Legendary Creatures with Flash.

I use her to support my Samurai modern deck. Also, best troll card.

It does cost 1 more than Serra's Blessing and doesn't do quite as much... but it has Flash and a body.

The Flash ability is what makes this card.  I notice that Flash abilities have a tendency to "cost" more if the ability that it is being combined with makes the Flash ability more useful.  In this case, having the instant ability to block and have a 2/1 to fight with on your next turn is a lot more useful than say, a monster with Flash and Reach.

Still seems kind of expensive for a Legendary though.

Most Legends are expensive. For maybe a white color with low P/T maybe a little, but not much. Isamaru used to be cool, till others came around.
