Would a client-side script solve this problem? DN won't host the images, but people still have access to them via the interwebs like they always have. A quick javascript script to overlay while using DN could make this fixed pretty easily. Run DN, then run your javascript snippet and viola. Like SparkyFlary said, it'd be kind of an underground thing. I'm not a lawyer, but the script would essentially be an aggregator of images, and even if XC were to host it, I don't imagine there could be any legal action done. Making this script would take an intermediate javascript user a total of 30 minutes? BTW I didn't actually read the C&D so I dunno.

 

Just some thoughts; I'll go back to being disappeared now.

Looks like DN is saved. They're also planning to switch to javascript which might be pretty far off from finishing who knows. I wonder how long it'll last this time.

Erm, what? Complex crap? Enlighten me, what complex crap? Links like that have existed for a long time...

 

Just checked. I have had the first (lower-quality) one that was floating around in my bookmarks for over a month. (12th of April to be exact, not that Chrome makes that information easy to find.) I also don't happen to use it, as I really don't care about the images, and all of them lacking one is less jarring than only some cards lacking them.

The very first time DN went down, all I had to do was click a link and it gave me HD images. What complex crap did you have to do?

Yeah, someone did need to do this. And several someones did, hence why links like those exist.
