played the demo though and enjoyed it thouroughly. it did exactly what it had to do, introduced the new mechanics (ash greninja, z moves, trials, the new evil team, totem pokemon, a few of the new pokes) and did it in a way that made you feel like you really were getting a small taste of what the game has to offer

 

i also must  say it looks much more graphically impressive compared to ORAS or XY my only issue was noticeable framerate drops when i fought totem dragon thingy and rockruff together.

There's also a Pikachu's birthday in 11 days. You can find the guy at the bottom-left of the city hall. Who gives out the quest in 5 (now 4) days? I'm not sure I remember seeing that number.

 

So who's you guys' favourite pokemon from Gen VII? I think mine is Mimikyu. Also loving Alolan Muk, Tsareena and little Rockruff.

It has the send to nature option since it's from the Capture Challenge and you don't get to keep them, but having a Send to Box option wouldn't be too crazy for the full game.

I may have personally stopped caring a while ago about pokemon spoilers, but Im with you guys on this. I still dont want the story itself spoiled for me, I want to experience that.

I'm okay with knowing some of the story, but I'd rather not know the end.

 

For example, I really want to know what's up with the Ultra Beasts. They look so similar to many of the revealed characters in the game, and yet, they're catchable, and have shiny forms too?

 

I'm guessing that the Ultra Beasts were developed using the genes of the humans. That could be possible. This region's story is definitely about artificial creation - especially with Type: Null.

Also, Heal Ball is my second-favourite pokeball after Quick Ball, so yeah I'd love it if I could use it more often for full effect. Especially with HMs gone, in-game party size would be kept to a minimum. I really hope that you can check the summary of a pokemon straight after catching. That would be so great for checking the nature and ability of a pokemon and being able to release it immediately. I've got a load of Ralts with good natures that have Synchronize, ready for catching wild pokemon of the correct nature.

I just realised, it doesn't seem like there's a boss legendary of Solgaleo and Lunala. By boss legendary I mean like Rayquaza, Giratina, Kyurem, Zygarde. That said, perhaps Zygarde would be it. He didn't really come off as particularly strong last gen.

You have a point... All I know is Perfect Ce- I mean, Zygarde Complete Form BETTER step up its game big time. Its got at least three signature moves as of the programming of X and Y, including Land's Wrath which was the only one we could actually get without hacking.

 

Also Jesse, the 5 days is the girl in the lower left part of the city. She's right beneath the girl with the Corsola blocking our way to that mansion.

Probably not, I don't think that many people will be talking about it. If Pokemon GO actually gets more discussion than just this halloween event, we can either make a new thread or just rename this one to "Sun/Moon & GO discussion". 

 

For now, I guess it's alright here, since we're all just waiting for Sun/Moon to come out anyway. 

 

 

 

It would be cool if the rumours were true. But I don't mind either way. I think it would have been nice to see some more Alolan forms, I'm not too sure why they're all Kanto pokemon, but it doesn't matter. I'd also like to see some more pokemon simply due to the fact there are almost no Steel, Ice, Poison types, etc? And with Steel being my favourite type, I don't want to make do with just a fat hedgehog and Sandslash 2.0. 

 

At the moment, since there are so few Alolan pokemon, it feels like they lose value. Every time I'm going to see an Alolan pokemon I'll secretly feel somewhat disappointed. I can't get into this world of new pokemon forms when there's only like 10. I've already had all these pokemon in my party before. For me personally, most of the joy of playing a new generation of pokemon is having a completely new party to go with it. Either every pokemon is new, or every pokemon is from any generation. That would mix up parties. But I've played through Kanto so many times, I really don't care about having a Raticate or Ninetales on my team, even if they have a completely new type and a new set of moves. Last gen was nice because you were gifted a Kanto starter pokemon and then the rest of the pokemon were from the new generation. But now it feels like most of the pokemon I'm going to bump into are essentially Kanto. Which means I'll be starting my game already running from wild battles. 

 

That said, Alolan Muk is still awesome, and I do want to have it in my party, especially because of its new typing and updated moveset (at least I'm assuming it'll get updated). Let's put it this way: Hopefully, Alolan Forms of pokemon aren't as common as the other Alolan pokemon. If I don't see Alolan Rattata too often, then I won't mind so much when I see one. I'd much rather see a Rockruff or Yungoos though.

 

 

 

And yeah, I did actually mention to my friends that we should totally go hang out by a busy station and play Pokemon GO again like we did in the summer. Whether we do or not, it's nice that there's at least some incentive to play the game again. Why did it have to be Drowzees though?

Weve only seen the original Kanto Pokémon in Alola forms. What's the reason for that?

Shigeru Ohmori: This is really my first time working as a director on a completely all-new title. Last time, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was kind of remake of an older title. Also with this being the 20th anniversary, I was just thinking that we have so many fans long-time fans of the game that have played since the beginning, and I really wanted to have a special surprise for those players. Also for the fact that Pokémon from the Kanto region of the original game are probably the most recognizable among long-time fans. So I really wanted to kind of focus on them and give them kind of them a new take on their appearance to really surprise them. But at the same time, by having the new appearance they kind of look like new Pokémon for a lot of new players who are maybe just getting started with Pokémon. So that was the reason we decided to focus on Kanto Pokémon.

It seems Cubone/Marowak and Meowth are also part of the event. Finally got a Gengar and enough candy to evolve my Dratini. 0 Drowzees so far...

As for the thread, we could split once S/M launch or GO gets more active, I suppose, for organization's sake. Right now S/M and GO are a tad short on "news" material.

Also, more S/M info coming tomorrow 10 PM JST, likely a trailer.

More info is good, cant wait to see what it is. Also i already found a marowak, a hypno, a few ghastly and one haunter. Hoping i can find enough ghastly or haunters to get a gengar myself, and unless i get lucky and find a good haunter ill need 150 candies. Shouldnt be too hard with the doubled candy though.
