This is a wonderfully excellent attempt to remedy my confusion, but plagues of literality aren't easily cured by literal explanations.  I thank you for your time.

If all the oldies were here with us now, I don't think a single one would ever come to think I'd make it this far . . .

I do not understand.  Where is this far to which you've made?

[Edit: Italic words are not emphasized.]

You should know me for what I was. Back then I used to be one of the biggest trolls around. Now, all these years later, I'm one of those on the admin team. This combined with all of the struggles I had/have in life, I would have never of thought to make it this far. That is what I meant, or at least better explains it from my perspective. I'm sure most of those from the old age of XC would of never thought I'd become anything more then just a local mod, or maybe perhaps my own lack of faith was my own downfall from the start.

Is there an easy cure?

Edit: if so, what is it? If not, what cures are available?

Medicine has been largely preventative of its own progress on these extra-empirical loopholes.

Suffering, then, seems remedial of certain trollish infections.  I am glad to read this.

However, it does seem somewhat a bizarre leap to think that we ever thought.

Well, I never would think of you as someone who would think that.

Is this precisely as I've said it?  Or is there another reading?

Perhaps it's easier said now, years down the line, after witnessing him stop the trollish behaviour he once had. Rewind 10 years and the doubts Gren had may have actually been there. I wasn't around 10 years ago (although, fuck me, I won't be able to say that in 17 months), so I don't remember seeing Gren in a bad light though.

I was quoting DarkBlaze, but I know I was warned one time or another by you, Knowbie. People grow up and most of the time move out of that "phase."

And Jesse, be glad you didn't see myself as the troll... lol.

Oh, drat. Is there any literature on the subject?

The whole of literature might be taken as the literature on the subject.

[Edit—Please, forgive me, for I did not also reply to Gren.  Here, Gren, is your answer: I am not certain that I was then who I am now, nor that my pedantry was any real pedagogy; whatever warning I gave you, please, disregard it until the real Knowbie develops.]

Lol, I remember when you were a troll Gren. Don't be so hard on yourself. What were you, like 10? You were a kid doing what kids do. Causing trouble and having fun. You're a good person and you matured a lot. I'm not surprised to see you where you are now. If you're still here after all this time and care enough to not only keep coming here every day but actively try to improve XC, then you deserve it. You've had a good head on your shoulders for years now.

Congratulations to all of you and good luck in the revival. I always have and always will wish the best for this place and all of the people in it.

Knowbie's gimmick is so good, why didn't I think of something so... strange and yet also so innocent?
