Weekly Deck Building Contest!

Welcome to the weekly deck building contest!
Congratulations to RiverShock, who won the 12/11 Weekly Deck Building Contest with his deck, Jackpot 7.dek! As stated by RiverShock himself, the idea is to give the opponent control of Absorbing Jar, and flip it up with Swords of Revealing Light to have it destroy your own Jackpot 7s, allowing you to win the duel if you get your Jackpot 7 destroyed three times!
Everyone who participated will receive 1 x Pre-Synchro Era pack as thanks for participating. For winning this contest, RiverShock, you receive in addition your choice of 3 x Pre-Synchro Era or 1 x Pre-Xyz Era packs.

Previous Winners

The Rules

  • Each member may submit up to one deck per week.
  • Each round of the contest will last one week.
  • The decks entered in a previous week's contest will be placed in a poll during the new week's contest.
  • Comments on the decks up for voting are encouraged, but not required.
  • Each participant will receive 1 x Pre-Synchro Era pack as thanks for participating.
  • The winner will instead receive a prize of their choice of 3 x Pre-Synchro Era packs or 1 x Pre-Xyz Era packs.
  • Be creative!

This Week's Contenders

This week's theme was to build a deck based on a Duel Terminal Archetype.

The Theme

This week's theme, chosen by Exarion, is Multitype Decks. No monsters in the Main and Extra Deck may share the same Type. However, you are allowed multiple copies of the same card. This means if you have Elemental HERO Neos in the Main Deck, then you're not allowed to have Number 39: Utopia in the Extra.
For this week's contest, construct a Multitype Deck.

What a challenge when 80% of the viable monsters are split in 5 types...
3) Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress {Spellcaster}
3) Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter {Beast}
3) Wulf, Lightsworn Beast {Beast-Warrior}
3) Ritual Beast Tamer Zeframpilica {Psychic}
3) Shadoll Zefracore {Rock}
3) Zefraxa, Flame Beast of the Necroz {Dragon}
3) Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing {Wyrm}
1) Glow-Up Bulb {Plant}
2) Pleaguespreader Zombie {Zombie}
1) Burial from a Different Dimension
1) Foolish Burial
2) Pot of Dichotomy
2) Charge of the Light Brigade
2) Solar Recharge
3) Oracle of Zefra
3) Zefra Divine Strike
1) Solemn Warning
1) Bottomless Trap Hole

1) Mist Wurm {Thunder}
1) Dark Strike Fighter {Machine}
1) Armades, Keeper of Boundaries {Fiend}
1) Flamevell Uruquizas {Pyro}
2) Goyo Guardian {Warrior}
2) Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer {Winged Beast}
1) Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn {Fairy}
1) Abyss Dweller {Sea Serpent}
1) Number 101: Silent Honor ARK {Aqua}
1) Gagagigo the Risen {Reptile}
1) Number 61: Volcasaurus {Dinosaur}
1) Number 20: Giga-Brilliant {Insect}
1) Shark Caesar {Fish}

Pretty straightforward: Milling the deck to setup quickly. Zeframpilica gets another Zefra from the Grave (notably Zefraxi for insta Synchro or Xyz). Zefraxa and Zefracore don't mind to be milled either.

Level 6 Synchros and Rank 6 Xyz are the easiest ones, although Synchro to Level 5 with PSZ and Bulb is very easy too. Zefraxa also allows Rank 5 Xyz.

S/T is pretty obvious, with Dichotomy almost a staple for this challenge and Burial from D.D. for the PSZ and Divine Strike banishments.

obs. Every one of the 22 different types is represented there (ignoring Divine Beast because yes)

Codarus Deck

Monsters (17):

3x Codarus <--- Sea Serpent

2x Mother Grizzly <--- Beast-Warrior

2x Summoner Monk <--- Spellcaster

1x Giga Gagagigo <--- Reptile

2x Warrior of Atlantis <--- Aqua

1x Fenrir <--- Beast

1x Papa-Corn <--- Plant

1x Traptrix Myrmeleo <--- Insect

1x Jurrac Dino <--- Dinosaur

2x Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit <--- Psychic

1x Unknown Synchron <--- Machine

Spells (16):
3x A Legendary Ocean

3x Chicken Game

2x Pseudo Space

3x Terraforming

1x Salvage

2x Instant Fusion

1x Emergency Teleport

1x Megamorph

Traps (7):

2x Forgotten Temple of the Deep

2x Wall of Disruption

1x Bottomless Trap Hole

1x Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare

1x Safe Zone

Extra (15):

2x Elder Entity Norden <--- Fairy

2x Ancient Pixie Dragon <--- Dragon

1x Metaphys Horus <--- Wyrm

2x Armades, Keeper of Boundaries <--- Fiend

2x Number 106: Giant Hand <--- Rock

2x Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer <--- Winged Beast

1x Shark Caesar <--- Fish

2x Dante, Traveler of the Burning Abyss <--- Warrior

1x Ghostrick Alucard <--- Zombie

The aim here is to get out Codarus as often as possible, to clear the field and scare the opponent. Chicken Game/Pseudo Space/Ancient Pixie Dragon/Jurrac Dino all help to rummage through the deck, Fenrir and Dino scare the opponent from leaving an easy target on the field, with Wall of Disruption helping to keep them and Codarus alive. Papa-Corn and Giga Gagagigo are strong, easy-to-Summon monsters that cause even more problems for the opponent, which really strengthens the power of Codarus. Since you have multiple cards that have LP cost, as well as attacking with Mother Grizzly, Megamorph is there to add a little bit of terror into your opponent's eyes after you've cleared their traps with Codarus and/or the Extra Deck.

Clowning Around
3x Blade Rabbit (Beast)
3x Crass Clown (Fiend)
3x Dream Clown (Warrior)
1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole (Rock)
2x Spirit Reaper (Zombie)
3x Worm Linx (Reptile)

1x Book of Moon
1x Dark Hole
2x Messenger of Peace
2x Mystical Space Typhoon
3x Pot of Duality
1x Raigeki
3x Stumbling

2x Dimensional Prison
1x Jar of Avarice
3x Labyrinth of Nightmare
3x Lose 1 Turn
3x Zero Gravity

3x Armored Kappa (Psychic)
3x Daigusto Phoenix (Pyro)
3x Mechquipped Angineer (Fairy)
3x Number 49: Fortune Tune (Winged-Beast)
3x Sky Cavalry Centaurea (Beast-Warrior)
Originally I wasn't going to include an Extra Deck, but since Worm Linx goes off in BOTH End Phases, it seemed prudent to include a way to get it off the field besides Dark Hole to avoid a deckout. Kappa and Centaurea aren't actually bad either, being able to hold off attacks, while Phoenix can do some extra damage on a cleared field. Then I figured I should fill the rest of the space, so... Angineer sets off Blade and Dream while also providing protection, and Fortune Tune is a decent survivor, with a LP bonus and the return of lost cards. Still though, generally, you won't need to SS anything, which is perfectly fine with Lose 1 Turn.

Heh, decided to challenge myself to meaningfully include every single Type. I think I managed it... (Though 1 of the Extra Deck cards is very much filler.)

Monsters: 25

1 x Obelisk the Tormentor

2 x Lancephorynchus

2 x Mandragon

3 x Sky Dragoons of Draconia

1 x Majespecter Unicorn - Kirin

3 x Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer (I tried to stick to just TCG cards, but eh, this thing's out soon, and it's better than Vector Pendulum here)

3 x Dragoons of Draconia

3 x Denko Sekka

3 x Archfiend Eccentrick

1 x Risebell the Summoner

1 x Dragong

1 x Rescue Hamster

1 x Sea Dragoons of Draconia

Spells: 10

2 x Dark Factory of Mass Production

2 x Mystical Space Typhoon

1 x Raigeki

3 x Summoner's Art

2 x Wavering Eyes

Traps: 7

1 x Call of the Haunted

3 x Lose 1 Turn

2 x Mirror Force

1 x Ring of Destruction

1 x Number C69: Heraldry Crest of Horror

1 x Gagagigo the Risen

2 x Stellarknight Constellar Diamond

1 x Shark Fortress

1 x Number 103: Ragnazero

2 x Number 101: Silent Honor ARK

1 x Number 20: Giga-Brilliant

1 x Daigusto Emeral

1 x Ghostrick Alucard

3 x Tellarknight Ptolemaeus

1 x Number 58: Burning Garbage Burner Visor

Overall, I think it turned out well. It was really just Thunder (until I realized Denko actually works kinda well here, and I needed more LV4 monsters anyway), Pyro and, strangely enough, Machine I found myself feeling I had trouble with. Obviously my Insect, Zombie and Reptile choices are probably not terribly useful, either, but they can be. (And actually, Gagagigo's kinda cool since it's a huge monster I can use while Lose 1 Turn is up.) It's no coincidence that most of these Types have virtually no Xyz or Pendulums. (Barring Machine.)
