Greetings mah undead peepies!

Recognize me? I'm the guy who went poof and took an indefinite vacation to LURKER LAND. Its a pocket dimension in which you pretend to be a ghost and haunt the crap biscuits out of any particular place on the interwebz where you feel the significance of your presence is equivalent to being dead. In this case, it was XC. Ironically during the time when I was league moderator, what was the last theme we were on back then? Oh thats right.............ZOMBIES! xP

The participants were clearly so into it, that they ended up pretending to be the actual things themselves. Only difference was, they didn't make any movements.....at all. No rushing to eat your face at blinding speeds while holding a 40 card deck, instead they were pretty stuck with other stuff like doing homework on the topic of "How to properly stuff your face with other people's faces 101".  Too much literature, less to none practical.

Jesting aside, I'll be fair on the note that my own sluggishness also happened in those days and for similar reasons no less as in 2012-13.

Quite sad to see some of the oldies had their farewells before me... (though doesn't mean I can't poke em elsewhere. *cough*)

But yeah what motivates me NOW to make my ramble fested entrance you ask? 3 things really:

  • I was understandably bored to hell with my usual prolonged ventures.
  • The awkward realization that this place is literally the only spot where I get my playmates for dueling.
  • Cheese lured me in here. Oh and finally read the invite for the Nostalgia Tour lulz. (Sowwies Sun)

So long story short, me is back. For how long? Who knows, but even back then I never said anything about "leaving". :P

I was a mod before I left. Then right when I came back Setever was killing all the inactive mods and I just told him that I'd be active again so he let me keep my position.

Also, read the new rules and stuff Bardon. Learn pendulum monsters and then teach me. Too lazy to learn it by myself xD

.....meaning my powers didn't die coz of inactivity, they died coz DB killed the section I was modding!  >_____>

For the record, I'm still using my 2 year old decks and never grew very much to the silly pendulums. xP

(Surprisingly half of em still work just as effectively)

You'll have to learn em the same time as me sadly.

they have a monster effect and a pendulum effect, they have a pendulum scale, they go to the Extra deck when destroyed, you can activate them as spells and put them in a pendulum zone which you have 2 of. in the pendulum zone their "pendulum effect" is applied, in the monster zone their "monster effect" is applied.

if you have 2 Pendulum monsters in your pendulum zones of different pendulum scales, you can Special Summon as many monsters from your hand as you want, same with pendulum monsters in the EX deck, as long as their level is between the 2 scales (so if you have a scale of 3 and  another with a scale of 5 you can SS any level 4 monsters)

that's the gist of it

I honestly don't get why they came into existence in the first place.... =___=

Their function is like a hybrid of ritual monsters and extras yet hardly expand to any archtypes.

Heck, its more like they themselves are treated as an archtype nowadays. The only competitive deck I've seen so far that heavily used them is Qliphorts and their playstyle is usually just beatstick spamming with skill drain.

I think they wanted to do it for a while. With Dragon Rulers, they wanted the ability for some cards to come back. Of course, Dragon Rulers were OP, but Pendulums can be stalled with a simple MST played right.

Also, Zaborg the Mega Monarch? What an effect. Might consider some decks that can abuse him.

Welcome back! I too only recently came back after like a year and a half of lurking >.>

On the pendulum subject, at the moment it definitely isn't making much of an impact besides Qliphorts. I hope it is like XYZ monsters where eventually they were able to be splashed all over the place~

Also Jesse, do you mean Zaborg?

Ah, yeah, I edited my post immediately after posting it. Couldn't be bothered to check, so I included a wikia link. It told me there was no Kuraz, so it had to be Zaborg xD.

By the way, I really like Pendulums. Yang Zings and those kind of floaters piss me off, but Pendulums have moments to strike in between their destruction and their next Summon. That's the difference and what I feel makes them balanced.

That said, once they start creating Pendulums with immunities to destruction/targeting etc, we're in for a long ride.

As far as Zaborg goes, I repeat: SKILL DRAIN.

Facing pendulums like Qliphorts mostly depends on how well your deck handles their backrow without relying on your monsters too much. :|

(One of the reasons why I feel heavy storm might make a comeback)

First Abyss and now you? lol

The one time of the year where peeps are usually away, we instead are coming back here as if this were some spiritual gathering of sorts :P

Welcome back to you too~
