So I just got back from LA regionals today. This is like my first article so I'm a bit new at this so bare with me on this story. So uh yeah there was a crap load of people there, like 1,000+ that entered the tourny. You had to get there real early to get a blue wrist band paper thing in order to actually enter and I barely got mine in time when I got there like at 8 a.m. I looked around and noticed that there was some girls cosplaying as the Sailor Senshi or better known as the Sailor Moon scouts. I only saw moon and mars though. I thought mars had a hot body heh but anyways aside from that I had to fill up my deck list so I sat on the freaking floor. This guy next to me was making a deck list for elemental dragons. Then got in a long long long line and eventually it broken into pieces and everyone just started to try and get in the door entrance to the tournament room. After registering and all that I got my 5 crappy galaxy packs that people seemed to be pulling crap so I sold mine for 15 bucks. More interesting that happened was that a friend's friend of mine who recently max holo'd up his deck got the whole thing jacked. People always get cards stolen in this regionals or atleast one person suffer a great deal from it. Getting back home was a bit of a problem. I wanted to stay to the final round 10 to see if I can top. It was a bit of a disappointment though at that round cause I didn't draw the damn game winning card even though I had 3 in the 3rd game. We then walked to this really shady freeway place that looked very nasty because our friend didn't wanna pay for parking so he parked his car way over in this bad spot. But yeah overall it was a interesting experience and it showed a lot about the meta and how it..well sucks lol. Ok enough of that, here's the results that I got using a freaking dark world deck:

Round 1: Tidal Mermail Atlanteans 2-0
I think I won the dice roll, don't remember. I played it out not knowing what deck he had, being the good honest boy I am. I did a pretty solid opening and set a deck devestation virus down and mind crush and passed. I activated it after he drew and knocked out half his whole hand. I mind crushed his atlantean dragoons cause I feared his possibility to otk and he had ayssmegalo, the 1700 beater dude, and the 2700 beater mermail one in his hand. I don't remember much but after winning round 1, on round 2 I sided out the 3 dragged downs and 2 eradicators for 2 maxx c, a mirror force, 1 mst, and 1 dark hole I think. He tried real hard to try and fight and kept using Tidal dragon to block my Grapha hits. Eventually I got him with deck devestation virus yet again and Grapha then overpowered him.

Round 2: Elemental Dragons 0-2
He wins the dice roll. He activates card destruction, and I had no dark worlds in my hand of all the times I needed them damn it. He does the usually summon search, search, summon, summmon things constantly throughout on me. He never once made dracosack but Big Eye was pretty annoying. He also synchrod flamvell guard for Crimson Blader or what's his name. That synchro monster is pretty good unfortunately and it ended the game. I sided 2 maxx c, 1 tragoedia, 1 gorz, dark hole, heavy storm, dark smog, and gozen match, and replaced the 4 viruses mained, the 3 dragged downs, and some other card. None of it worked. Tragoedia almost got me back grapha that big eye stole but he used compusory then mind crushed it out off my hand, bleh.

Round 3: Evilswarm 2-1
It was pretty rough duel since I drew pretty bad. I took the game on just beating me down while I couldn't do anything. On game 2 I took out the 2 deck devi, the 2 mind crush, for 2 mst and 2 skill drain. I then noticed that it made me feel safe siding mst when they go first though over keeping the eradicators, I managed to get rid of Evilswarm Ophion from gates into ditching grapha for a pop and then I over power him with big dudes or something like that. On game 3 though he went first and used the reinforcement of the army to get the warrior one. He summoned it and normaled another guy to the field and made ophion, got the search from it, and set 3 backrow. He had 3 cards in his hand. He definitely had an extra card in his hand after he ended. I noticed this right away however I played a dirty trick to make sure if he is cheating he cannot get away with without the judge nailing him. I sharked him real hard after I on purposely drew for turn so that he can't take back the move! Well then..I had a slight though of what if he made a mistake so I asked him "why do you have 7". After a little dialogue he insisted that that's the right number of cards he should have, so I had no choice but to shark him to the judge and after the judge took a minute to review that first turn play he gave my opponent a game loss for the round 3. If it continued fairly though it would have been pretty interesting duel I guess since I drew not too bad.

Round 4: Fire fist 2-0
Well I not sure if this was fire fist but anyways the fire fist deck I played was pretty much a regular fire fist deck. The eradicator virus knocked out all his good spells game 1 and I pretty much won. Game 2 I took out the useless deck devis, and the dragged downs, and a mind crush and some other card just to make room  for msts, heavy, dark hole, and 2 skill drain to side in. The plan was successful though he didn't draw his side hehe. I even card destruction real nicely.

Round 5: Inzektors 1-2
I think it was inzektors not sure. I don't remember much but I think he otk'd me after kiling my monsters using a long combo with dragonfly, centipede, giga-mantis, sword, and hornet. On round 1 or 2 I got him pretty good. On round 3 I left deck devi though over mst to be sided but that cost me game pretty badly cause dimensional fissure got me with no outs to it.

Round 6: Chaos Dragons 2-1
Not sure if this was the right round I faced this but it was a typical chaos dragons deck with thunder kings and maxx c's mained. The first round..or 2nd I forget but I lost from a very bad hand of pure virus with no monster or anything. The other round I got him well and again with the help of skill drain and dark smog working together.

Round 7: Evilswarm? 2-0
Not sure...I actually forget what deck this was but my guess is it was probably another evilswarm deck. Dang these decks really were everywhere hah called it right on that! I sided msts and heavy over viruses, mind crushes. Kept the dragged downs both games. I think card destruction came in handy really well and sacked him. It cased him to lose all his macros cosmos.

Round 8: Prophecies 2-0
And from what I heard prophecies were also pretty unbeatable along with the dragons but atleast konami left it a big bulls eye weakness on this stupid deck. All that searching is just overpowered. Anyways I sacked this one with eradicator in about the early middle part of the game. It happened twice in fact and also twice he nearly comes back just from the spellbook judgment day and the field spell that can bring out the high priestess but I had torrential both games and I could tell he seemed pretty pissed.

Round 9; Evilswarm 2-0
It was getting late at this point but I begged buddy to stay since I might top 16 with the 2 losses only! I felt pretty good about evilswarm though this game is pretty luck based so I didn't feel like I can relax. This guy used dimensional fissures instead of macro crosmos so they were easier targets for the msts. I tried to bribe/offer him to give me 10 bucks for me to let him win but he refused. My friend had to go home early and I made him stay lol. So no we went to round 10!

Round 10: Spellbooks 1-2
So he comes in somewhat late yet on time. I didn't mind until he drew pretty damn good..He played it better than the other guy I played but still the bulls eye weakness was the same. One single eradicator virus would end him but absolutely none in all 3 games..even I had 3 in there...On game 2 we struggled pretty hard and I somehow came out on top using some good yugioh skills. On game 3 he goes first and he draws really broken..a lockdown of the banishing spellbook quickplay and d-fissure and backrow.. pretty much with the only hope being heavy storm that I didn't side in. They don't normally open up like this but what do you know at the right time he did. So I lost that one and now that I realize well writing this I couldn't sharked him too and got him a game loss after he tried to play spellbook of life to revive priestess without paying the revealing cost or something like that but I told him he just couldn't plain activate it. I think he tried to cheat me on that one when it was round 2 but meh wouldn't won anyway that round so it was pointless to shark him I guess.

Overall record: 7-3

Real bummer losing that last round and it was like in the bubble I think. Also disappointed on losing to that inzektor deck from poor siding, I kept thinking of older format inzektors when deck devi might have actually worked, or I dunno why thought it would worked but it cost me the game. Oh and I also met Twiterr on there from YF forums. It was pretty funny seeing him irl. All those games were pretty serious decks, these people held nothing back in their deckbuilding, they tried real hard to fully max their cards from their stupid DN experience bleh. If I could change one thing I'd probably take out the tragoedia for something like mind drain...but o well that 900+ dollar deck might win anways...

I think Sailor Moon was not sure. My friends were playing mermail tidal, dragunities with tempest, lightsworn, tinplate gadgets, and a junk synchron based deck. We all got 3 losses with me getting the 3rd loss at the very end so everyone waited for me in vain lol. The dragunity deck was pretty darn good and got the third loss to karakuri otk like in round 7 but I wanted to keep playing cause I thought I can be a boss with 2 losses but oh well it was worth trying.
