Gren's Thoughts » Here's Mr. Pretty Fun Vampire Guy. He exiles things. He also gains abilities from exiled things. Is that an Emrakul? Ulamog? Or is that some pimp commander card? Guess what, he gained abilities of those he removed. He's nice on paper, he'd be fun in casual, but in today's game with the speed of some decks, that ability is mighty expensive and would only serve as a game winner (depending on the creature(s) exiled). His summon cost isn't too bad, but his main ability is expensive.

Emrakul and Ulamog have no activated abilities... why would you bother to gain them?

Anything with the ability to gain ALL abilities of something would be instabanned (unless it can only gain those of one thing).

I think this card will blow some people out in limited. It's repeatable removal for a reasonable cost and on a body that pumps up.

IMO it'll be played more like an enchantment or artifact that just says 4BB: Exile target creature., but yeah, that's still not bad at all.

Now that I read it more and more and more, it's not as terrible as I first made it out to be.

IMO, (since i'm a noob, it doesn't count for much, BUT!) his exile is really cool, but way to damn expensive. for that, i can play 2 go for the throats, and have enough leftover for 2 weenies. Or i can bring out some of the big innistrad demons and say lol at all of the things. He's cool, has nice stuff, but i'm not gonna let him finish.

It's not standard playable at all or even remotely close. It's a significant bomb in limited though, assuming the opponent doesn't just outspeed you. This card can and will win the game by itself starting around turn 8.

Gerdat, the reason it's expensive is that you can do it as much as you have the mana. Sure, you can play 4 cards for that cost -- but that requires HAVING those 4 cards, and the GFTTs don't do anything afterwards. If its ability cost the same as  GFTT, 1B, it would be on par with every card which has been emergency banned.

Is it just me, or is WotC giving Black a small share of White's exiling-to-kill lately? I like it. It always seemed unfair that White was the color that could kill cards better (but not necesarilly more cheap) than... well, the color of death. And no, exile-as-cost doesn't counts.

I like this card. Yeah, it's very slow, but it's repeatable removal on a kinda affordable cost/body. I mean, 3 CMC 2/2 Vamp isn't terrible or anything. And then, late-game, bam. This card starts killing creatures left and right. I would compare this card to a fat, nerfed Spikeshot Elder. The activated ability stealing is just a nice bonus.
...also, seems very cool in EDH.
