Well I've got a crazy idea. I'm gonna build a deck-list for every character that duels in the various Yugioh anime seasons. this will include

• Protagonists
  
• Side characters/ sidekicks
  
• Rivals
  
• Major enemies
  
• Random enemies

So yes basically everyone in any series that owns a card will get a deck. I will start with the original yugioh series and continue to Gx 5ds and eventually Zexal, But i will not be alone...

Here's your part in this. I want your input to make these decks as good and current as possible, while retaining the basis of the duelists deck.

So here's how this is gonna work,

FirstI'm gonna ask for you guys to tell me what to put in certain characters decks so that they are as current and powerful as can be made while sticking to theme. This will be done on a weelky basis with multiple characters per week.

Next I will build the deck and post the decklists on a thread the deck depot were everyone can have a say to maximize the build. while simultaneously posting the next batch of characters for input.

Finally once the next batch of decklists is ready for the deck depot I will take the current decklists and put them in this thread where all can see both in the original post and as a seperate post.

Since there is a huge volume to go through and my time is limited I will not submit every duelist and deck to be reveiwed especially those with very minor roles. These will be included in the weekly updates as well. These will not be dicussed in the public threads but if you have a special affinity for a certain character or deck then please PM me with your input.

Well I think thats it. I will try to keep stuff together enough so this moves at a good pace and on time. however if the load becomes too much I may ask for additional helpers to work with me. Anyhow thanks all and i  look forward to working with you guys.

Also to start things off these will be the characters for this week.

Seto Kaiba

Only two this week but since they are the two biggest characters I figure it will be enough for my starting week.

Raphael and Valen are totally the best enemies ever. I guess Valen would have a Morphotronic deck since his armor cards were never released but idk. I've made plenty of Guardian decks before, but it sucks Butterfly Dagger is banned for this though it is understandably SUPER OP.

I did this before, except with the characters I loved from the original series. I made each member of The Big Five's deck along with Tea, Serenity and Tristan then I made their decks card for card from the show then looked at their strategies and mimicked them with more up to date stuff (no synchros/Xyz to keep the spirit of the original show intact).

Yugi's deck is hard to imitate because to use Dark Magician you need adequate support but his deck wasn't fully focused on spellcasters so it is hard to do especially with only 40 cards in it.

lol first post ins't even finished and i get a post... Not sure what i've gotten myself into. Also i will use both tcg and ocg cards in order to better capture the duelists.

Yugi's deck will be a minimum of 1000 cards, and the only way to play it is you stack the deck every single time since he's the biggest cheater of all time...OF ALL TIME!

Since i guess i never made this completly clear this is advanced format playale decks... and actually i have an old one of yugi's that can be very interesting, summoning dark paladin and screwing the rules is a whole lot of fun

yugis real competitive deck would be Dark Magician / dark Paladin with Chimera Thrown in and some Kuriboh support also DMG and Magican of Black Chaos since DMoC is banned

Is that "Yugi" Deck Atem's deck or Yugi's Deck?
Kaiba Deck will actually be kinda hard. Gotta have blue eyes and dragons, but can't have REDMD. That's Joey's territory.

Really? I thought it'd be pretty simple. Blue-Eyes, Obelisk, Ultimate Offering abuse... It doesn't necessarily have to be ALL about dragons. He was mostly brute force and swarm. Also: Virus cards.

eeh. The prospect of blue eyes and obelisk being in the same deck doesn't appeal to me, though I guess with Kaiba, we really do have to go that way.
Well, since we have 3 coth and a monster reborn, maybe a dragon draw engine with summoning from grave? Silent Doom/Swing of Memory, Birthright might also be good.

As for yugi...

Atem's Deck - If we can use EHeros, dark paladin/eradicator warlock burn might not be so bad, but those are kinda more Juudai's field.
Yugi's Deck - Silent Magician/Silent Swordsman with Gandora splashed in. Yah.


And I remember there being a deck challenge for this, too, though I can't seem to find it.
I think whoever did Joey won that one.

If he's using OCG and TCG, he's playing on DN most likely.  Everything on DN is competitive because people are so bad.

These decks are expected to run semi-decent, or should be, in my opinion.

Well some of their cards are OCG only, like Tristan's Cyber Commander. Anyway, are we supposed to do this or is the OP doing it so we can look at his decks?

I don't run Obelisk in my Kaiba deck; I make it primarily a Blue Eyes w/dragons deck.

The only problem I have with making Kaiba a deck based around Dragons is that.. Well, even though he did run a few Dragons, and Blue-Eyes was his boss monster, his deck throughout the series focused so much more on disruption, and crippling his opponent's deck. Then, just to add insult to injury, he would bring out the biggest monsters ever, and laugh at you while his gigantic ego would pressure your puny monsters into submission. Kaiba's deck wasn't one of brute force, but rather, manipulation.

Yes, Kaiba ran Dragons. Yes, Dragons were probably some of Kaiba's favorite monsters. Yes, Kaiba has a Dragon fetish. But with cards like Ring of Destruction, Shrink, Soul Exchange, Giant Germ, Shadow Spell, Crush Card, and Enemy Controller, it is apparent he also has a fetish for control as well. He played an aggro-control deck, giving his opponent little to no option in what their choices are. He liked to manipulate and control, which fit his theme as a CEO of a corporation, as well as his will as a designer.

The Dragons which Kaiba ran and their Support Cards were Blue-Eyes, Paladin, Kaiser Glider, Spear Dragon, Chaos Emperor, Hyonzaru, Lord of D., Flute of Summoning Dragons, and Luster Dragon #2. If you count XYZ-Dragon Cannon too, then go with that as well. I just find it difficult to create a deck based solely on Dragons. IMO, that's more Chazz Princeton's forte than Kaiba's, nixxing the Ojamas.

Yugi's deck was... Kinda hilarious really. People don't realize it, but I see it as a stall/exodia deck. Mystical Elf, Mirror Force, Swords of Revealing Light, Kuriboh + Multiply, Magic Cylinder. Seriously, what the hell? He got his deck passed down from his Grandpa, who originally built the deck. It was focused on getting Exodia out with Stall tactics. xD

Spellbinding Circle, Magical Hats, Big Shield Gardna, Giant Soldier of Stone, so many other stall cards. xD But what happens after he loses Exodia? Instead of summoning Exodia, he waits for his boss monster, the Dark Magician.

Overall, I understand why Kaiba gets so pissed when he loses to Yugi. Kaiba has a cool strategy. Poison opponent's deck, the beat it down to pulp with gigantic monsters. Yugi's strategy seems to be stall, stall, stall until I get a card that can help me. ._.

Either way, it's interesting to recreate the decks. Good luck with this. ^.^

i will make the decks but i am asking for ideas. as for yugi vrs atem i'm gonna say atem this week and yugi next week. I agree with nariku about kaiba being control beat with his blue eyes. I probably will not put obelisk in kaiba's deck since he used it for one season and then lost it to yugi. and i will probably not use the Egyptian gods in yugi's deck for playability's  sake.

As for what fits imagine if the character's were actually playing today. That means both synchro's and xyz's are possible.

@ iron yeah i have a deck quite like that that basicly trys to spam fusions of yugi's.

Okay so far for yugi here's my ideas :
Use dark magician and buster blader for paladin, use magician girls for dark magician, use eccentric boy for synchro's and to make supreme arcanite. use the skilled magicians for beaters. perhaps prisma for fusions. Now that i look at it i may put in eradicator warlock but i'm not sure.  anyhow that's what i've thought of so far for the best effect and playability. PLus most of that fits under what yugi would use if he were around with the most liberal things being prisma and eccentric boy.

For Kaiba all i know right now is that it uses blue eyes but i definitely like the control idea. maybe it would work to use malosem of the emporer... also i'mm somewhat on the fence with the XYZ  unions. other obvious choices are kaibaman and white stone of legend. I am also on the fence with red eyes metal.

Also yes there was a very similar deck challenge. Also there will probably be some decks that are very similar especially between seasons but hopefully i can make each difereant enough so that each i san individual.
