Ok this is inapporpriate. There are 5 people currently banned in #XCT atm. The majority of these are due to users arguing about rulings with the TD despite being proven wrong.

However, along with rulings disputes, TD's are also being trolled and disrespected both in PM, In a channel or in the YVD Client itself.

From now on, any user showing ANY disrespect towards a TD will recieve a PERMANENT ban

Our staff do not deserve to be treated like this and I am sure none of you would like one of us to troll you.

Harsh but needed.  We might complain about Spambots here on the forum, but really, compared to some of the "peope" (dont feel thats even the right term), that get on IRC and just... make people's days just go to crap, the Spambots are cheery and not annoying at all.

Always gotta give the IRC Staff cred, they tend to get it far worse than the rest of us here.

I'd like to add that if you do decide to break this rule and bitch about it on the forums, I will also permaban you here. We can't tolerate this anymore.

It's a shame to see this happening when we have such a small user base.
The thing I'd like to point out though,
is that anyone who is worth a cent around here won't generally act like this.
In other words,
the people getting banned are randoms that have popped up in the last week and most likely won't read the forums.

You need to have this in the rules when someone joins the channel or even here;

Sounds reasonable to me. Frankly, we should've had this already implemented.

If they get banned from xct should they also receive a gline or is that too much?

We did technically have this implemented but on a less harsh basis.

Depends on the incident and what they do elsewhere.

So dumb question, but what if they have proof that the ruling given is wrong?

Would they still be banned/glined?

This is of course on the off chance this happens, I'd just like to know.

They shouldn't have trolled/disrespected anyone anyway, I suppose.

I'm not certain that Rayth would agree with me here, but I would treat this like I do at a Local tournament.
If you have solid proof that their ruling is incorrect, you can politely provide said proof. If the judge still disagrees with you, you must take the judge's word as final, right or wrong. At that point, you have done what you can. You just have to suck it up and go with it.

If you have proof that your ruling is correct (wikia does NOT count as solid proof JS and neither do other forums), then I will look into other reasons for your banning. Most normal ruling bans are only 3days-1 week unless they are persistent in which case they will be extended. These permanent bans are for TROLLING the TD's and annoying them.

Would also like to note, if you get banned from #XCT at any point you will lose any XCBux you have earned that month up until the point you got banned. If you do get back in within the same month, you will still be able to win more but you will lose any that you won prior to the ban.

And since loads of people keep asking, XCBux won from tournaments will not be credited to your account until the start of next month.

Just a suggestion: Maybe an XCT FAQ in the Tournaments forum explaining all of that?

Sounds effective to me.  So what if you have one person who has multiple ways to access IRC?  Will you just continually ban each new IP/nick for that person?  I doubt this will happen, but what if?
