I spent a few hours today getting some more stuff setup for you guys.


First up is the Thanking system! Beneath every post is now a "Thanks" button. By clicking this button, you are "thanking" this user for their post. This will add to a Thank counter for that poster, which makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside. You cannot negatively thank a user in case of a shitty post, so just skip it and move on. This is strictly a positive system. If you accidentally thank a post, you can remove it, though. So think of this as being similar to a Rep system, but without negativity. It's all bunnies and rainbows.



Next up is the Awards system that I think you all have already noticed. As I promised years ago, I have finally got the Awards system setup and added all of the awards from the last 2 years. This system can be used for a lot more than just XC Awards, but that's just the initial deployment.

There were some users that didn't get their awards because I couldn't confirm their forum names. These users are:
-Orichalcos - Best Returning Member 2010, Member Who Made XC Better 2010
-Yoda - Worst Returning Member 2010
-Acey - Best Gamer 2010
-Solarpsy - Most Controversial Member 2011

If anyone can confirm these guys' forum names, I'll go ahead and give them their awards.




Store Updates:
I took some time to learn a little PHP and fixed the bug with the Name items in the store overwriting effects from previous Name items. They will now accumulate on top of each other.

I also added an item that allows you to upload an Emoticon. Enjoy.


EDIT: Oh, and I installed the Country Flags because it makes Aeon happy.

1) You can see who thanked your post by going to the individual post.

2) Updates come in phases based on my mood, how much work is involved, and how much time I have to do them. Stock market is coming soon. As well as more games for the arcade.

3) That would be super annoying. If the forum was active enough, you'd be getting flooded with notifications. Also, the system I installed is very simple - not much to it. It does the Thanking and the counting, and I can manage where you can Thank. That's pretty much it.

My only complaint with all the changes is the compulsive stuff I have to keep changing / setting in my profile.  Other than that, I'm glad to see all the changes going on.  Certainly reinvigorated my will to check the forum.

Also, is it just me or are new moods getting added every now and then?

And I think we need "Lazy" and "Motivated" moods. And probably a thread just for suggesting moods~

I'm sure it's possible, but I don't know how to do it yet. I'll look into it, but no promises.
