I dunno how you guys manage to attract these people. Not once have I A.S.S.d or been A.S.S.d in my entire time on there.

My third duel ever on DN, I MST a person's FD trap they just set during the end phase, I tell them I used it during their turn so they can't chain it.  I get A.S.S. immediately afterwards.  Noobs will rage or get irritated by anyone who shows even a slightly superior understanding of the game than they do.

Giving people a no proof needed ability to hurt your rep is basically like posting your Social Security number and expecting people to NOT steal your idenity.

Kinda makes you realize why you don't see that feature anywheres else really, its a terrible idea.

that is why I never played rated duels yet... unless I find someone to trust I'll never do it...

Some storys of mine:
1. already 4 people argued, that I can't revive treeborn after I used enemy controller to take over their monster. Even after I showed them the ruling that it can be done... and 2 of them were experienced players, at least according to themself. And one of them was like: "Hey, you are only at 100/0, you can't be right, idiot" and lots of other like that^^
2. already 3 people just don't understood the effect of the new dark world card celri, even one of them just told me "READ YOUR DAMN CARD" arguing he must discard, not me without any reason... and even after I tried to explain, that that effect is activated on their side.
3. People generaly seem not to understand Rivalry of Warlords, they keep insisting to being able to tribute summon a monarch of a different type (example: tribute cyber valley for caius) or they insist that they can just summon stardust/other dragon or trish or whatever... out of all their fabled monsters on the field. And once my opponent just didn't get, that he still can't summon brionac/stardust/other dragons while zombie world is on the field. 20 People already raged about that card, I already thought about taking it out just to avoid that arguement >.<

Its these rulings quarries that Konami is trying to combat with their new, noob-friendly wording system.  Hopefully it helps (which it should, to an extent).  However, with the revamped wording will come those who don't understand that "remove from play" and "banish" refer to the same action, similar to the frustration that I'm sure some of you guys had to deal with when Magic Cards were redubbed as Spell Cards.

Yea that's true, I really hope it does help. And I'm sure it won't be hard to get used to for veteran players.

Oh god I still play with some cards that still refer to spells as magic cards, and it causes confusion for new guys.  I don't hold it against them, I just take it lightly, explain it myself, and offer them the no sweat go ahead and ask a judge route.

I sometimes feel like a hypocrite when dealing with belligerent can't-be-wrongs, since I get a LOT of things wrong myself. But if I'm willing to admit when I've ballsed up a move, then they should be as sporting so we can just move the frack on with the game. I may have stepped out of the game a fair bit in the past few years, but that doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about how some cards work.

This is an impressive series of rants that I feel I am unable to trump.  I will however, misdirect...

In recent weeks, YGO has become more popular at a local game store, and as such has attracted a new set of nooblets (many of which come from the high school across the street).  While they fortunately are not the argumentative types, many of them seem to be so annoyingly inattentive as to the point that I wish they would argue about something just so that I know they're actually paying attention.  It's one thing to not know the rules, I can handle that.  Confused by the chain?  Big deal, I'll explain.  Don't know the special rulings on this card?  Here it is.  But why, oh why...CAN'T THEY JUST READ THE CARD?!?!

That's the bigger issue I've had with nooblets.  It's like watching a bad episode of the original series.  "I do this." "I respond with this." "How did you do that?" "It's right on the *%#(* card."  Even with opponent's card, it should be as easy as "Can I look at that for a second?" after you play something.  Sure it slows down gameplay, but I'd rather play slow than play with someone who doesn't even know what's going on.

Anyone else have this issue?

Yea I mean, new people are fine with me, I'm happy to teach and explain anything one doesn't understand about YGO, and I'm not afraid to ask anybody about something I don't understand. Only real way to get better is get your ass kicked and learn from mistakes. But a perfect way to get worse is to argue with people that are trying to help, and keep your "pride"; insisting on your being right. Those are the people I wanna strangle

i don't care if someone doesn't understand, I'll gladly explain with reasons why it is like that. But if they then come along with "no it isn't that way just because I say so"...

Sounds a bit like Konami.

Well, until new players themselves become corporations themselves and able to make their own rules, they can't have the same power lol (Edit: I set myself up perfectly for this, so I'm gonna do it. "Screw the rules, I have money."

What gets me the most about people who don't even TRY to come in and know the rules, are when I run into people who have been playing the game wrong from the very start.  Like they were one big group of noobs, never venturing outside the noobdome, and I happen to run into one of them solo.  Start playing the game, and I call them on something, and the response is "Well, thats how I've always played it" is used as the end all answer and excuse to be wrong.  It bugs me, but 99% of the time, these are just casual games, so I just adjust and play to their rules (and still end up beating them down).

All in all... starter and structure decks aren't exspensive, and they come with a rule book.  If you ARE new, do us all a favor, and look through it.  If only just the small section that walks you through a typical turn.  And failing that, do the free tutorial on the website.  Not saying its going to make you perfect, but there is a fine line between being unaware and just plain ignorant.

Ok, I have to ask, even though I likely know the answer is no.  Please tell me that there IS a process in which to reverse this uncalled for use of A.S.S., and abuse of which can then be turned around and used against people that are rageing at a childs card game.

If you have screen shots and logs... it should be possible.  And if not, that better be on the To Do List.

And I'm highly sure the answer is "No, there is not".
