Someone I was dueling (irl) started to argue that  Magical Citadel of Endymion's spell counters could be used by both players to activate effects. I said that wasn't true, but his friend said it was and they got flustered, (I didn't want them to get angry and leave since it's tough to find rl opponants)  so the battle continued and I lost both rounds. He also had at least 2 Cold Wave cards (they were banned at that time and still are) and I used the official banned/limited list and felt totaly cheated out of the duel because he obviously didn't. Now that I think of it though, when I dueled him the previous week, he got totaly creamed, so maybe he put those cards in there because he was afrade that things would go they way they went last time.

I hate when your dueling people and they are like you can't do that read the card. I'm like well I can do this because the card says can or something to that extent and I even get correct rulings and show them and ask other people and they all concur with the basis and they still try arguing about it. I will say though that a lot of people don't know all the parts of each set phase though which kinda sucks somewhat.

Usually, "you can't do that" situations are mostly because the opposing player doesn't want you to do something xD

I'm sometimes seen as a jerk IRL because when people ask me "Hey, can he do that?", I answer: "Tell me a reason why he can't. If you can't come up with one, then he probably can". I force them to read the damn cards, and unless they ask me a coherent question, I will keep forcing them to read the card, sometimes making them go ask someone else xD But it's not my fault that they won't read.

Some people even come up with the excuse that the cards are in English (y'know, Mexico and everything), and then I ask them how they're playing on the first place. Lulz ensue when someone hears that excuse and brings out the exact same card in Spanish, owning them.

Now for a story of stubborn people:

This guy was running Samurais. He SS Samurai + Grandmaster, sets 2, says go.

I draw, then try to use Junk Synchron's effect, and he uses Swallow Flip. I WTF, and he starts saying how people doesn't know the rules and whatnot. Apparently, he thought that Swallow Flip = Divine Wrath, as he argued that it could negate Monster Effects and Special Summons, or something like that.

We argued around 15 minutes on how he couldn't do that, and he concluded that his Samurai Deck was "too advanced" for me and took another Deck instead.

After that, I owned him like 5 times in less than 10 minutes thanks to Synchro spamming xD And he ragequitted in the end.

He probably misread the Special Summon part.

Just had a guy try to cheat me on DN. I'm playing Karakuri, he's playing some LS Chaos variant. I have Scrap Dragon on field, no hand, he has a face-down monster on field, one card in hand. I draw and it's Monster Reborn. Of course, barring a Veiler (which he doesn't have) anything I draw at this point is likely game. So I SS Burei from my grave and activate Scrap Dragon's effect, fearing a Ryko.

He proceeds to move the face down card to his s/t area, then to the top of his deck. I figure, no harm, he can just mill it off. Then he goes into his freaking deck (and he's there for a while), special summons Dandylion, says "Oops" and flips it face-down. Then he tries to play it off like he had Dandylion on the field the whole time. And then, as if that isn't bad enough, pretends he doesn't know English. I had to tell him his attempt was so transparent it was almost comical, and called an admin, but he ragequit and I won. Good times.

That reminds me, one time a guy played me using a mill deck, and when he lost, promptly reset his lp, searched his deck and stuff, removed a/d changers, sent misc stuff to grave, then randomly summons 2 needles and a morphing, calls admin to say I wouldn't admit defeat.

I played a guy the other day that summoned vennominon by just removing a reptile in gy from play.  I kept telling them that wasn't how you can ss him unless he dies while on the field, but they just played dumb.  HOW I READ CARD?!  Anyway, I didn't care and just proceeded to beat him no problem =/

It all begun when I tried to Veiler his Decay, so he would be with an ATK of 1600 only. I had asked for him to wait while I checked that, but meanwhile he proceeded to the BP and attacked Doomkaiser Dragon I had swapped.
He insisted I was too late, so I went and begun to play his game. summoned Gigaplant, equipped Supervise and SS my tuner while he was deciding if he would BTH it. Obviously he got angry, but understood my point. x)
Then I synchro to Brutdrago (he was expecting it, thus the quick BTH), but then that last shot happened.

Him vs. Me

He got 2 Judgement Dragons turn 2, used effect to destroy my Paladin of the Cursed Dragon and attacked me.
Then I summon Shock Master by Summoner Monk > Zombie Master (discards veiler) > Paladin, detach Master to lock monsters, set Mirror Force.
Next turn he tries to attack, his monsters are destroyed but he uses Beckoning Light, discading 3 and recovering 2 Dragons and Veiler.

My turn:

You know what still annoys me... It's happened a number of times: I activate a Trap (not Continuous) and the opponent responds with Mystical Space Typhoon. And they think it negates my Trap (ex: Bottomless Trap Hole). This IS a universal thing that's happened more than once to someone other than me, right?
