i got banned for posting a web site. let me explain y. the reason y i did post it was to ask a question. my question was how to be invited to this "blank" other site. i gave a disclaimer that i wasn't promoting the website. i thought the rule for posting websites was i can't promote it and if it does it has to go through a staff person first. im really not a bad person and this is my first time being banned from this site. i know now that anything close to a rule has to go by a staff member first and not just amuse that it is okay. so how long do i have to wait to be unbanned? i read that bans are temp. oh! btw if someone finds a reply i did earlier sorry about that. i wasn't thinking about posting a new one first. i just got the thought, "hey if i post on a new one it will be read faster, than waiting on a old replied post." which btw it needs to b locked

YVD bans are generally temporary --- the length of said bans being at the desecration of the Op that applied that ban, based on the severity of your infraction.

It would probably be helpful to any Op that may see this thread if you posted your usual IRC nick.

For future reference, outside links that are not listed in our rules are not allowed to be posted under any circumstance unless a moderator (Op or higher) says you can via a private message to them. Links are generally the biggest source of viruses and other malware so we take these steps to protect our users. That said, bans are usually removed within an hour; if not, message the Op that banned you.
