YVD Images Tutorial How to get Images to show up.

The following is a tutorial on how to get images to show up on your cards. If You follow these directions, in no time flat you will have images.

Tools you will need: WinRar and YVD

Step 1: You need to get WinRar if you do not allready have an extraction program.

Step 2: You need to download the images pack from XeroCreative.

Step 3: You need to OPEN the .zip full of images.

Step 4: Hit Extract.

Step 5: Find Your YVD Folder.

Step 6: Find the Images Folder INSIDE the YVD folder.

Step 7: Extract them.

There you go. 7 Full-Proof Steps to getting your images work in YVD!

I get alot of reports that Vista is giving errors. This is because Vista trys to protect you when you don't need protection. Here's what you do:

1: Are you an Admin of the computer? Yes: Step 2
No: You need admin privis. i.e Get a Parent.

2: Did you run WinRar in Admin mode? Yes: Step 3
No: Right Click Winrar and there should be an option to run in admin mode or something similar, click it. Try Extracting. Did it work? Yes: Yay
No: Goto Step 3

3: You've done everything and still no images Do the following:
Extract the allimages.zip to the desktop and than manually move the folders to the C:\Program Files\YuGiOh Virtual Dueling\Images

Make sure you do NOT put them in C:\Program Files\YuGiOh Virtual Dueling\Images\Images

If you are still not getting images to show up, UnInstall YVD and Re-Install it, and repeat the steps above.

umm im in a bit of a trouble. when i try to extract the files a pop up shows saying im having errors. saying that there is no path to put the images at. i dont get what it means. i try and follow everything but then this happen.

I can see my cards when i play them, but i cant see my opponents cards when they play them.
How do i fix this?

When can we download a more up-2-date images pack? :( I already hv the latest set file, but no images for TSHD & DREV. What gives?

JGR, try downloading the complete Images File and following the steps listed above. They're pretty straight-forward.

I've done it, checked it, & found out it's not up-to-date. Still no TSHD & DREV card images. Hmmmmm.... that means YVD's behind by several months already. :(

DREV isn't even out in the TCG, so no not really.

TSHD just came out in the TCG, so no not really.

I Cant Find The YVD Folder, I Can Only Find The Setup, I Have Extracted The Images And They Are In A Folder (I Used Winrar) But I Cant Find The Folder To Put Them In So That It Shows Up When I Play, I Only Find The Setup. What Do I Do?

Have you actually RAN the setup file? If so, by default YVD extracts to the ".../Program Files/Xerocreative/YVD"

...at least it did for me. :P

yeah i ran the setup and i am able to click the icon that says Shortcut To Yugioh Virtual Desktop. and i can click that icon n it comes up with all the card names n lets me make a deck i just dont have the images and thats what i was trying to get to work, i got to the point in winrar where u can place the folder and i look for the yugioh virtual folder n all that but its no where to be found i looked all over my computer but all i find is the set up...

Do a search on your computer for "YVD", if it doesn't find anything, it's not installed.

Try installing YVD in your "My Documents" folder.

Yes.

The image needs to be GIF format and 40x40 pixels.

The image goes in a folder with the same name as the set the card is from.

The file name is the exact card name without spaces.

For example;

Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind would go in the "TSHD" folder, with the filename "Blackwing-GhiblitheSearingWind.GIF".
