Create-a-Card Competition

Rules:

1) One member will act as "Leader" for each competition. The "Leader" will decide on one or more criteria for the rest of the members; "entrants".

2) The entrants will then post their cards; "entries". Entries that are not related to the competition criteria will be considered spam and dealt with accordingly.

3) After an acceptible number of entrants have posted or, alternative, after a reasonable amount of time has elapsed, the leader will judge all entries.
(i) The leader may judge according to any criteria he wishes,
(ii) The judge *must* select one, and only one, entrant as the winner of the competition. However the leader may at his discretion award 2nd and 3rd place.

4) The selected person will then act as the new leader, and the cycle goes on

5) If a leader hasn't made up his/her mind for a damn long time, anyone can judge the entries; but if you joined that contest, you can't vote urself as the winner

Okay, let's make this a simple one. Design a creature that has an ability or abilities that involve changing its power and/or toughness until end of turn in some way.

Is it just me or does the Dimir Signet look like a guys open zipper...

P.S. it might be better Hatchet if it was 2WWW and said "If B was used to pay for this card this card can block as if it were any color."

Yeah but, that would not be fair to the cards that say "May only be blocked by black creatures."If there are any.

it might be better Hatchet if it was 2WWW and said "If B was used to pay for this card this card can block as if it were any color."

Just cause I want more creatures that can go inside of a RW rav deck and I have yet to see why anyone runs Black mana inside of a Red White deck. =P

I like the idea of a Morphling equipment, and although this doesn't quite follow my criteria (I wanted a creature that could change its own power/toughness, although I guess I wasn't very clear), I'll consider this one. By the way, your wording is a bit off and you're missing some 'until end of turn's, but I don't let those things count against a card unless they make it too hard to understand.

I don't think you need to bother with counters; just say it gets +2/-3 until end of turn. I don't quite understand what you're trying to do with the Defender ability. If it only lasts for the next turn then it's pointless, since it wouldn't have Defender long enough to be prevented from attacking. If it's permenent, and depends on whether or not you chose to play the upkeep ability, then you need an "Unless ~this~ came into play this turn" clause to stop it from happening on the turn you played it and it wasn't there for the upkeep, and even then, if you didn't want to attack with it, you could just use the ability anyway and then leave it back. I'm afraid I can't judge this one, since it's too hard to figure out what's going on.

This one seems rather arbitrarily thrown together. All you did was make a Modular creature and slap on Myr Quadropod's ability. Not creative enough.

I like it. Very flavourful, and well costed. There's some minor rules issues, since the creatures that are given -1/-1 won't go to the graveyard until the entire ability is finished resolving, but no matter. A contender.

Okay, so I looked at the cost and card type figured that you probably making a finisher for Mono-Blue Control, being the Spike you are. Then I read the ability and realised it's not nearly good enough for that. Then I remembered that I recently advised that players in this game try to tailor their cards to the judge's interests. Then I was impressed that you had remembered that. Then I looked at it from a Johnny perspective. Then it looked like a fun card to try and build a deck around.

Anyway, I think you could have made the costs for the spell and the ability less, and possibly removed the 'once each turn' clause. It's not bad, but I liked another card better.

huwaw, I thought Tom was going to win. That card is like wow

oops... well, hope you got what I meant by that ability...

anyways... criteria (simple one):

Create a legendary gold creature (2 colors only) whose creature type is somewhat different from the typical legends (almost all are human something)... and which might have a role in Ravnica. The theme of the creature just has to be suited for that color/s.

Examples:

Cairn Stonehoof, Chieftain

First Strike
RR: Creatures you control gain Haste until end of turn.
GG: Creatures you control gain Trample until end of turn.
When CARDNAME is put into a graveyard from anywhere, reveal it and shuffle it back to your library.

1st, 1B: Destroy target non-black, non-green permanent alone is imbalance. You could've put Tap.

2nd, rotwurms from library to hand, no shuffle effect?

3rd, rotwurm boost is too much

4th, a tutor of almost anything, even at that cost is kinda too much... I mean even from graveyard, and even enchantments?

5th, okay... pay GGGG to put out 4 rot farms to play; return the 4 lands you paid mana... nuff' said.

6th, I seriously doubt all of that would fit in 1 card.

Wow... I feel as though I didn't compete with the best, though, so my victory after all this time still seems... Just a bit shallow. Anyway:

Every truly scary creature has its own swagger. Whether it be powerful, sullen, boistrious or just plain evil.

Pick one, appreciably complex, word that best describes the swagger of a creature. Base your creature around that word.
